Wondering what makes this phone so popular ?
The answer is - It's the first commercial modular phone . The G5 comes with 5 different modules that give additional functionality and features to it.
This is quite an innovative step taken by the company , and people seem to like it a lot . Modular phones are the latest craze , thanks to Google's Project ARA concept .
The G5 seems to combine the elements into a single unit and giving birth to the first modular smartphone available in the market .
BUILT AND DISPLAY
The full metal body on the G5 gives a premium feel to the phone and the sloping top gives it a unique look .
The design is clean , but the buttons are not placed at the same spot , which makes it slightly difficult to use .
The phone has a 5.3 inch , quad HD display with an always on module as well . It is an IPS LCD , but still , the display is pretty good and immersive as compared to other flagships .
The display is well protected , thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass protection .
The finger print sensor is housed on the stand by switch . The scanner is fast however , it is very sensitive in operation .
HARDWARE AND PERFORMANCE
The phone houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor , which is backed by 4 GB RAM , Adreno 530 GPU and a non expandable storage of 32 GB (ROM) .
Everyday tasks such as browsing , playing movies etc perform very smoothly and are lag free .
Don't be surprised to know that this phone runs almost all the games that are there on the play store very good frame rates . This phone is a nice performer as well!
The mics are pretty accurate , and the sound quality is superb on the down side speaker .
Everything apart , one thing that worries me is the non availability of expandable storage .
This is a serious issue for a memory hunk like me!
Coming to the power house of the phone , there is a 2800 mAH battery , which gives all day round usage . It also comes with Qualcomm quick charge which is able to charge the battery to 80% in just 30 mins!
CAMERA :
Here's the interesting part -
The phone has 2 cameras . A 16 megapixel sensor and a 8 mega pixel sensor with a 135 degree wide angle lens .
f/1.8 aperture aids in low light photography , and the laser auto focus is quite fast when it comes to focusing on the subject .
A hefty little feature is the Optical image stabilization , witch ensures there are no unnecessary shakes when you are 4k Ultra HD videos .
The front has a 8 mega pixel camera with a wide angle lens , so that you can fit many faces into your selfies !
SOFTWARE AND CONNECTIVITY
Running on Android v6.0.1 , this phone meets up to all the expectations and more a person could have from a flagship smartphone .
With very less modifications on the software , the phone doesn't fell laggy when running performance hungry games and applications . Standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac , Bluetooth v4.2 , A - GPS , GLONASS and NFC are there .

VERDICT
The G5 is the first commercial step towards the modular smartphone concept . It packs powerful performance and added convenience , except for the storage part .The Built doesn't feel robust due to the modularity of course but still , this is a must buy smart phone .
This is the nest step in Smartphone market .
